I have to say something about the movie Blazing Saddles. It was released in the 70's, 1974 to be exact and although I remember it being fairly funny the first few times I saw it, I couldn't help but not find it all that funny this time around. I mean there were certainly scenes that made me laugh and I realize it is a Satire. It's making fun of a bad situation because the situation in and of itself is ridiculous, but still, I was kind of put off by it. Maybe it's just a different time and place now or maybe it's just me and who I am now? Basically what I'm trying to get at is that I can appreciate the movie's presence and Mel Brooks' comedic style as it manifested itself in 1974, but it's not a movie I'll be adding to my collection or watching again anytime soon. No offense, Mish, or anyone else that holds this movie on their "favorites" list! :) I was a huge of fan of "To be or Not to be" as well, but it has been a few years since I've seen that. I wonder if I watch now if I'll feel the same way? Hummmm, might have to test it out. Spaceballs, however never gets old!! :)May the Schwartz be with you...
